EAL Leadership: Prioritising EAL in Primary and Secondary Schools

This newly developed course is for school leaders who are seeking innovative ways to drive evidence-informed, impactful EAL interventions in their schools. This practical course will support leaders in devising school-wide systems, resources and training that will actively promote improved educational outcomes for EAL learners.

This course covers:

  • EAL policy within the national context, including insights from recent research into the attainment of EAL learners
  • Strategies and resources for assessing strengths and areas for development in EAL provision
  • Evidence-informed, impactful CPD approaches for teachers around EAL provision
  • An introduction to The Bell Foundation’s EAL Assessment Framework for Schools and how to use it to track and monitor progress and set relevant English language learning targets

This course is suitable for:

  • Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • EAL co-ordinators
  • Staff with responsibility for leading on EAL

This course will be held at the Bell School Cambridge which provides modern teaching facilities set within beautiful grounds near the centre of Cambridge and the railway station.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Limited car parking is available on site on a first come first served basis. Please highlight whether you will require a car parking space by contacting The Bell Foundation at info@bell-foundation.org.uk. It is not possible to guarantee a car parking space however the Foundation will accommodate requests where possible.

The nearest mainline railway station is: Cambridge. There is a taxi rank at the station and buses run from there to the venue on a regular basis.

Accommodation is not provided with the workshop. However, there are many hotels near the venue, details of which will be sent out with the joining instructions.

Please bring your ticket with you (either on your phone or a printed copy) and present it to the Welcome team on arrival.
