This course provides guidance on how teachers can adapt their teaching to meet the language development needs of pupils who use EAL.
This online course explores the distinctive nature of adaptive teaching when taking into account a learner’s proficiency in English. It provides guidance on how you can adapt your curriculum teaching in a responsive way to meet the language development needs of your pupils who use English as an Additional Language (EAL).
A certificate will be awarded for successful completion of the course.
Course dates: 1 - 25 November.

Emily Curran joined The Bell Foundation as a trainer in September 2018. Prior to joining The Bell Foundation, Emily worked in English Language Teaching (ELT) and taught both adults and young learners in the UK and Thailand respectively, before going on to become a teacher trainer in the ELT sector. Emily has a CELTA and DELTA and has also worked closely with Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign (CRRC) as a liaison for the English Language Provision.
Karen Warwick joined The Bell Foundation as a trainer in November 2020. She has worked as an EAL specialist teacher in a range of primary schools as part of a large EAL team in London and Wales for the past 22 years. More recently Karen has worked in this field in an independent capacity. Building capacity and promoting inclusive EAL provision and practices in schools has been central to her work.
