Explore our seven calls to action for the new Government to integrate children who use EAL.
The webinar will present key principles and a teaching framework that can be used to develop EAL learners’ advanced academic writing skills.
This webinar sets out to examine some key principles for teaching writing skills to multilingual learners who use English as an Additional Language (EAL) at secondary level, with a particular focus on the development of academic writing in more advanced English language learners.
The webinar will be suitable for both EAL specialists and subject teachers, giving ideas about how to support curriculum-related language development in mainstream classrooms.

Sarka Piggott is the Foundation’s Training Manager. She holds an MA in Translation Studies (English/Czech) and Italian Philology and is CELTA and DELTA qualified. She has worked in language education since 2002, as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, academic manager and teacher trainer. Sarka has delivered pre-service and in-service training for teachers working in a range of contexts and has given talks at English Language Teaching conferences in the UK and abroad. Her professional interests include teacher development, second language acquisition, helping learners develop receptive skills, and project-based learning. She is also an avid language learner.
