FAQs

What does The Bell Foundation fund?

The Bell Foundation works in and funds two programmatic areas:

  • Work which improves the educational outcomes for disadvantaged children in the UK who have English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Work (primarily language focused interventions) which contributes to reducing the re-offending rates of ex-prisoners and ex-offenders who have English as a Second Language.

Our current programmes focus on supporting beneficiaries in the UK, although we draw on international solutions and expertise.

The Bell Foundation works in partnership with others, including schools, charities, social enterprises, universities and other funders. Our partnership working typically, but not always, includes the provision of a grant and our support in developing the project beforehand and evaluating it afterwards.

The Bell Foundation is located at Red Cross Lane, Cambridge, CB2 0QU, UK.

We welcome contact from other organisations working in the two programme areas. If your organisation is interested in partnering with us, please contact us to discuss.

Our website contains a list of current and past partner organisations with whom we are working to deliver our programmes. These can be found on our EAL programme page and Language for Change programme page
