NEW: Guidance and resources for schools and teachers to support pupils who use EAL and their families to help mitigate any learning and language loss experienced during school closures.
Caroline joined The Bell Foundation as a trainer in June 2020, having taught English (Key Stages 3-5) in a city academy for almost 20 years. For the last four years, Caroline was the Lead Teacher for EAL, and as such actively promoted inclusive education. She worked closely with students and their families, planned and delivered CPL for staff, and liaised with external agencies including the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum, and the University of Nottingham. Beyond school, Caroline was appointed as an Advanced Practitioner in EAL by Nottingham’s IDEAL provision, and as a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) through George Spencer Academy. Caroline volunteered with VSO for two years, training secondary teachers and helping to deliver a teacher training programme in Laos.
