Diana Sutton

Chief Executive

Diana joined The Bell Foundation in 2011 as its founding Director. Over the last decade Diana has had the strategic vision to develop and grow the Foundation. This work has included commissioning and/or contributing to research (from leading universities, think tanks and The Bell Foundation) and programmes to establish an evidence base, and using that to drive change in practice, policy and systems for English as a second or additional language (ESL) speakers.

Diana has worked for over 30 years in UK and international charities in different leadership, senior management, policy, public affairs and campaigning roles. Previously, Diana worked as Head of Policy and Public Affairs for the NSPCC, Head of Save the Children’s office in Brussels, as a researcher to the European Parliament’s Disability Group of MEPs and to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Disability, and as a Parliamentary Liaison Officer at Citizens Advice.

Following two years as a Trustee at KIDS (a charity working with disabled children and their families), Diana was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees in June 2022. Previously Diana was a Trustee of the Children's Rights Alliance for England from 2006-2013.
