Regional Training

Centres of Expertise train and support schools in areas of high need, usually where there are significant numbers of EAL learners and limited access to existing EAL training and support.

The Bell Foundation is working in partnership with three regional Centres of Expertise to build sustainable provision for learners who use English as an Additional Language (EAL) with the aim of improving their learning outcomes.

Centres are accredited and quality assured by The Bell Foundation to run Language for Results training to schools in their regions. Each Centre has a team of dedicated EAL trainers who are licensed and trained by The Bell Foundation to run high-quality EAL professional development courses for teachers and other school staff.

Centres of Expertise can offer schools:

  • A school needs assessment to determine strengths and areas for development within current EAL provision
  • A detailed report of practical recommendations, guidance and training to build sustainable EAL provision
  • A bespoke ‘whole-school’ programme of training and support over a sustained period
  • On-demand training for individual schools from the catalogue of Language for Results courses
