Introduction to EAL Assessment (Online Course, Primary)

22 June - 24 July 2020 09:00 am - 17:00 pm

This practical online course aims to support schools to embed effective practices for assessing the English language proficiency of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL), leading to more targeted in-class support and improved learner outcomes for these pupils. The course introduces practitioners to The Bell Foundation’s award-winning EAL Assessment Framework for Schools and provides pragmatic, specialist guidance on using the framework within a context of what is realistic and what can work alongside existing assessment systems.

This three-component online course is designed to work around the busy lives of those within the education sector. With three hours of online study over a five-week period, this course enables practitioners to work at a manageable pace with plenty of time to process course content and consider relevance to your context. The course is designed to be highly interactive and collaborative, with opportunities to work with other course participants, course tutors and course material. Component two consists of a live webinar which actively encourages participants to ask questions and share best practice in real time.

A certificate will be awarded for successful completion of the course.
