The Foundation is looking for a limited number of strategic partners to join its growing network of Centres of Expertise across England, to deliver cost effective, sustainable EAL provision.
Bell Foundation commissioned research indicates that EAL support for schools can be inconsistent and difficult to access, and that there is significant demand for evidence informed EAL Continuing Professional Development opportunities for teachers, particularly for schools based in areas of high need.
The Foundation’s EAL Programme is committed to improving outcomes for learners who speak English is an Additional Language (EAL). The Foundation is looking to partner with Teaching School Alliances or Multi Academy Trusts to become regional Centres of Expertise to build capacity and sustainable support for schools so that more teachers can effectively support this group of learners.
Becoming a Centre of Expertise presents an opportunity to enhance and expand existing training offers to include high quality, evidence informed EAL training and support via a licensed partnership with The Bell Foundation.
“The training was really well received, and it has already raised the profile [of EAL] and is having an impact on practice.” Senior vice principal
This is an exciting time to collaborate with The Bell Foundation as its EAL Programme is taken to scale, and as the Foundation’s award-winning Assessment Framework for Schools continues to gain wider recognition.

The deadline for submitting expressions of interest, including the partnership criteria form and cover letter, is Friday 28 September 2018.
