These resource packs for Geography contain activities to help KS3 EAL learners understand and use language connected to glaciated upland landscapes in the UK. The activities will help EAL learners build their vocabulary around the topic, identify and describe glacial landforms and processes and talk about the benefits and disadvantages of human uses for glaciated landscapes.
Part 1 contains glacial landform flashcards, a glossary of useful academic vocabulary related to the topic with translation task and a graphic organiser for recording key vocabulary.
Part 2 contains glacial processes loop game cards, a Quiz Quiz Trade game, a glacial processes graphic organiser and a barrier game.
Part 3 contains human activities flashcards, graphic organisers and an accompanying barrier game for talking about human activities in glaciated landscapes as well as substitution tables to scaffold discussion.
