Maths and money
This KS3 EAL resource supports learners in Maths to develop their vocabulary around using money in daily life including the topics of banking, taxes, employment, shopping, commerce and travel. It will also be useful for new arrivals to the UK to introduce them to English currency and conventions around payment and banking.

This resource includes:
- Flashcards to introduce English currency and payment conventions;
- Collaborative activities (matching tasks and loop games) that allow learners to repeatedly encounter and produce key terminology related to banking, taxes, shopping and exchange rates;
- Gap-fill and dictation activities to help learners better understand how these terms are used in sentences as well as consolidating understanding and developing speaking and listening skills;
- A glossary and home language translation task provides a tool for supporting understanding and retrieval of key vocabulary, and can be used for independent learning or as an in-class support.
