Romeo and Juliet character activity

This is a popular activity originally developed through the Collaborative Learning Project. It can be used for a range of age groups and with learners at various levels of fluency.

It involves each member of the class reading some basic information about a character from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and then introducing themselves to others as that character.

The cards are organised by colour in eight sets of four, so the activity is suitable for a class of up to 32. Learners are encouraged to internalise the information on the card and produce it in their own words rather than just reading out the card. The cards are attractive with illustrations from the Manga Shakespeare series.
