Romeo and Juliet character chart

This is a collaborative activity designed as an introduction to the characters in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Learners work in pairs to construct a chart showing which characters are Montagues, which are Capulets and which are neutral.

Learners have first to choose three colours, to represent whether a character is a Montague or a Capulet or neither, and then colour in the frame around a picture of that character in the appropriate colour. The pictures are then cut out and inserted into a blank character chart which then forms a useful key visual for learners to refer to as they study the play.
