This KS3 EAL resource supports learners in Maths in understanding how to interpret data using tallies and pictograms while developing the language for asking and answering questions, expressing and justifying opinions and for comparing and contrasting.

These EAL resources offer learners opportunities for meaningful communication through the use of barrier games, card games as well as individual work activities. The activities include a number of riddles to teach the understanding of pictograms, and a bar chart and substitution tables for learning and working with tally charts. The resources are heavily visual and include a number of flashcards to support vocabulary development in this area.
