The boiling point of water
This is a set of flashcards to support a basic chemistry practical where learners discover the boiling point of water.
The flashcards show the various steps of the practical, with a photograph and simple sentence on each one. The idea of this resource is to ensure that a practical science activity is accessible to beginner EAL learners.
The flashcards can be used in a range of ways, for example to explain the task in advance, to help learners describe the process afterwards or to support them in writing about it. A list of basic connectives is included which provides additional scaffolding for oral or written tasks.
