World War II air raids
Bombs, shelters, gas masks, bombs, explosions! World War 2 air raids were characterised by these. This resource provides opportunities for learners to explore what air raids were like, how they might have felt when they heard the aeroplanes, when they saw the fires, when they walked through the rubble.
Their vocabulary development will be supported, their speaking and writing will be scaffolded and their language development will be enhanced.
This resource contains a range of activities, from a simple writing mat to support beginner EAL learners, to a more challenging collaborative activity where beginners would work with peers who can provide good models of English.
