World War II map
Fun and effective collaborative speaking and writing activities for learning the main countries taking part in the Second World War.
Some activities are suitable for whole class teaching, others for differentiation within the class for beginner EAL learners.
This resource comprises two speaking activities. The first of these, ‘Slap the board’, is a fast-paced memory game for identifying the names of the countries. The second is an information gap activity where a map of Europe has to be completed by working collaboratively. Two substitution tables, designed for beginners, are also included to provide scaffolding for writing.
