Toni Fazaeli

Trustee

Toni has worked in further and adult education for over 30 years, including as an inspector, a senior civil servant, a local authority adviser, a teacher and as chief executive of a national professional body for teachers. She is active in governance of further education colleges, and involved in All Souls at the University of Oxford and the Queen’s Anniversary Prize. Toni co-founded an innovative charity focusing on learning opportunities for older people in care homes, and was chair for nine years and is now their patron. She is a visiting Professor at the University of Wolverhampton in lifelong learning. Toni has taught English, humanities and social science subjects in prisons, as well as schools and further and higher education, and she is on the academic expert group for Ireland’s adult education service’s work on student voice. She is dedicated to the power of high-quality learning making a difference for people, especially for those who are marginalised in our society.
