This online course aims to raise awareness of what is and what is not comprehensible, accessible English language for learners using EAL.
This course for international school staff will familiarise you with some of the challenges learners using EAL might face when learning English and learning through English at the same time.
The course explores what can make English difficult to understand and introduces a range of easy-to-use, practical strategies for giving instructions and checking understanding which can be used both in and out of the classroom. Using these practical strategies will better enable learners using EAL to understand school staff in a range of school situations, access curriculum content and integrate successfully into the school community.
Tickets are available for both primary and secondary practitioners in international schools. A certificate will be awarded for successful completion of the course.
