Guidance and Strategies to Support Learners Using EAL (Webinar)
This webinar launches new guidance and strategies for the classroom that work alongside the Foundation’s EAL Assessment Framework.
The Bell Foundation is excited to launch brand new guidance and strategies for the classroom which will replace the existing classroom strategies for primary and secondary.
The webinar will be suitable for both English as an Additional Language (EAL) specialists and classroom/subject teachers, providing an overview of the new guidance and strategies and exploring how they can be most effectively used to support curriculum-related language development in mainstream classrooms.
The guidance will be launched in the webinar, or you can sign up to the newsletter to receive it in your inbox.
Areas of focus will include:
- An overview of the guidance and strategies;
- Details of how to use them;
- Examples of strategies in action at different key stages and with different PIE band learners;
- Opportunities for questions.
Who should register for the webinar
School staff working at primary and secondary level, including:
- Primary and secondary teachers;
- EAL teachers;
- Teaching assistants;
- EAL coordinators;
- Anyone with responsibility for EAL.

Sarah Moodie has worked as a trainer for The Bell Foundation since February 2021. She has over 30 years of experience in a range of ELT settings including language schools, secondary schools, local education authorities and a UK university. She has also been a mainstream teacher. Sarah has an MA in Applied Linguistics as well as an ESOL focused PGCE (secondary) and two postgraduate diplomas. Sarah is one of the authors of the updated guidance and support strategies document.
