Explore our seven calls to action for the new Government to integrate children who use EAL.
This course considers some of the challenges that EAL learners might face and explores some effective strategies to use in the classroom.
This online course aims to familiarise teaching assistants (TAs) with some of the challenges that learners using English as an Additional Language (EAL) might face when learning English and learning through English at the same time. The course introduces practical, easy-to-use strategies for supporting learners using EAL to develop the language skills they need to access the curriculum and fulfil their potential.
Tickets are available for either primary or secondary practitioners. A certificate will be awarded for successful completion of the course.
Course dates: 10 June – 11 July 2025
Ticket sales close on Tuesday 3 June 2025 at 4pm UK time.
All tutors are experienced teacher educators with substantial experience of teaching and assessing learners who use EAL in relevant contexts. Tutors are trained e-moderators and offer friendly, practical specialist support to all participants throughout the course.
