This webinar will explore how to use barrier games to support multilingual learners to better access the curriculum.
Barrier games are a flexible and engaging approach to developing language skills within the curriculum. This webinar for international school staff will set out why barrier games are such a useful tool for including learners who use English as an Additional Language (EAL) in mainstream curricular activities, and explore some of the many types of barrier games that can be used to support multilingual learners at different proficiency levels and across the curriculum.

Tom Beakes joined The Bell Foundation in 2020. Tom has worked in language education since 2003 and has taught in China, Japan, Ecuador and north Africa. His main areas of interest are teaching young learners, international education and teacher development. He holds an MA in anthropological linguistics and is CELTA and DELTA qualified. He has worked as a teacher trainer in the UK and abroad and is a regular speaker at English language teaching conferences such as IATEFL.
