This builds on the resource Persuasive language: writing: part one, and focuses on words/phrases which are used to rebut an argument- such as "however", "but" and "in fact".

The discussion question is explored through individual thinking time followed by paired talking and writing . The optional homework tasks asks students to complete the original GCSE exam question, with support sheets (word maps, gap fill and substitution table) available for those who may need them.
