The activities can be used to develop inference and comprehension skills. The resources develop understanding of the main character’s feelings and why the character feels the way he does. This helps to develop feelings vocabulary and how to structure a sentence when justifying an opinion. When answering true or false questions about the text, this aids understanding of key themes and events. The activity which asks the learners to match and link events from the past and present aids understanding of key themes and also develops use of the past and present tense.
