Reading and EAL: Challenges and opportunities in secondary schools (Webinar)

Our third webinar as part of the National Year of Reading will explore reading with multilingual learners in secondary schools

We are delighted to present the third webinar in our National Year of Reading programme for multilingual learners, as we participate in ‘Go All In’ reading celebrations to boost reading for learning and pleasure as part of EAL provision.

This webinar is an opportunity for secondary schools to gather perspectives, information, and inspiration for their literacy work in multilingual classrooms.

During the webinar we will hear from literacy specialists about the challenges that multilingual learners, especially those at the early stages of acquiring English, face as they develop as readers in English. Specialist practitioners will share information about impactful practice in school contexts and showcase examples of innovative projects to inspire teachers across the curriculum. Together, these examples celebrate and strengthen multilingual learners’ reading to build engaged, confident, lifelong readers.
